As a result of the passage of Act Number 170 of the 2001 Regular Session of the Legislature, the Specialty Limited Lines Credit Insurance License was created.

Currently, all sellers of credit insurance must obtain a credit insurance license. This new law maintains the current regulatory framework but provides a license for the seller of credit insurance and a means to register employees and representatives of the seller to offer credit insurance in a retail sales transaction without further licensing of those employees and representatives.

This Act requires that the specialty limited lines credit insurance producer must be currently licensed as an insurance producer or limited lines credit insurance producer, including a current appointment. Please note that all insurance written pursuant to a specialty lines credit insurance producer license shall be insured by a domestic insurer or foreign or alien insurer admitted in this state.

As a result of the passage of Act Number 360 of the 2006 Regular Session of the Legislature, the Specialty Limited Lines Motor Vehicle Title Insurance License was created.

This Act requires that the specialty limited lines motor vehicle title insurance producer must be currently licensed as an insurance producer or limited lines motor vehicle title insurance producer. Please note that all insurance written pursuant to a specialty limited lines motor vehicle title insurance producer license shall be insured by a domestic insurer or foreign or alien insurer admitted in this state.
