West Monroe insurance agent arrested, issued C&D and summary suspension, Commissioner Donelon announces

West Monroe - A West Monroe insurance agent was shut down today and booked on five counts of forgery for allegedly falsifying information on documents while conducting the business of insurance.

Gabriel Quinn Ishee, 31, was arrested by State Police this morning and booked into the Quachita Parish Prison on five counts of forgery. At the same time, Department of Insurance Fraud Unit investigators served Ishee with a cease and desist order and summary suspension of his license. Ishee is alleged to have issued written statements to two insurance companies claiming that at least five of his clients wanted to be billed directly for their Medicare Supplement policies, currently being paid via authorized bank drafts, in an effort to collect new first-year commissions on these accounts. He is also alleged to have issued these written statements without the client’s knowledge or consent, and to have forged the client’s signatures on the documents.

Arrest records show Ishee’s resident address as 3007 Lakeshore Drive, West Monroe. Department records show he held a Life and Health license from September 2002 until today’s action.

Commissioner Donelon urges consumers who feel uneasy about any insurance-related transaction to call the Department of Insurance Fraud Unit at 225-342-4956 or 1-800-259-5300. If callers don’t want their names used, they can request that their involvement be kept confidential.
