Released: October 6, 2006
Shreveport - A Shreveport producer was issued a cease and desist order and summary
suspension of her license before being arrested for allegedly misappropriating insurance
premium payments, forging names on various insurance documents and falsifying information
on licensing applications.
Adrenna Latice Johnson, 36, was served with a c&d and summary suspension of
her licenses by Department of Insurance Fraud Unit Investigators late yesterday
before surrendering to the State Police Insurance Fraud Unit at the Caddo Correctional
Center on charges of Felony Theft.
In a four-year period, Johnson allegedly failed to account for or remit to insurance
companies over $12,000 in premiums for at least fourteen (14) different consumers
purchasing auto and homeowners insurance coverage. In addition, she is alleged to
have forged the names of insurance consumers on various documents including applications
for insurance, money orders and change of address forms. She also allegedly submitted
false information to the Department of Insurance when applying for her producer
licenses in 2002 and 2004.
Department of Insurance records list Johnsons residence address as 4033 Evers
Dr., Shreveport. Records also show Johnson held a Property & Casualty license
from June 2000 until her suspension yesterday.
Commissioner Donelon urges consumers who feel uneasy about any insurance-related
transaction to call the Department of Insurance Fraud Unit at 225-342-4956 or 1-800-259-5300.
If callers dont want their names used, they can request that their involvement
be kept confidential.
