Commissioner Donelon announces
Released: April 11, 2007
A Baton Rouge insurance agent has been arrested and issued a cease and desist order
and summary suspension of his licenses today for alleged forgery and misrepresentation
of insurance policies.
Billy Ray Aguillard, 27, was arrested by the State Police Insurance Fraud Unit today
and served by Department of Insurance Fraud Section Investigators with an order
to cease and desist from engaging in the business of insurance.
Today's action results after Department of Insurance Fraud Section Investigators
received complaints that Aguillard had misrepresented life insurance policies, altered
insurance documents and forged client signatures for his own monetary benefit.
Department records show that Aguillard held a life & annuity license from February
2003 until todays action.
Commissioner Donelon urges consumers who have any questions regarding policies Aguillard
sold or serviced to call the Department of Insurance Fraud Section at 225-342-4956
