Louisiana Department of Insurance Health Care Conference
to be held April 26 in Baton Rouge

The Louisiana Department of Insurance (LDI) will host the Annual Health Care Conference on Tuesday, April 26, 2011 at the Hilton Baton Rouge Capitol Center located at 201 Lafayette Street, Baton Rouge, Louisiana.  The conference will begin at 8:30 a.m. and end at 4:00 p.m.

The registration for the conference will begin at 7:30 a.m. followed by an introduction by Insurance Commissioner Jim Donelon.  Guest speakers for the day include state and national health policy experts who will present information on current health care reform topics.  Agenda topics for the conference include:  Federal Health Care Reform and the impact on the insurance regulatory environment; current Department of Health and Hospitals initiatives; Federal Health Care Reform’s impact on Louisiana’s health care delivery system; how will Federal Health Care Reform impact the profession of health insurance producer; and is the health insurance exchange an efficient model for health care reform.  Noted political pundit, John Maginnis, of LAPolitics Weekly is the keynote luncheon speaker.    There will also be several exhibitors displaying health products and services.
